Why did you put the water cooler on the build? There's no point in getting that over a cheap cooler, or even the stock cooler. He won't be overclocking (most likely) so there's no point in an expensive after market cooler
I would put that money into a better video card because you could probably move up to a 7850/7870 with that money.

the prebuilds on newegg had even deeper discounts, and its easier to compare on that site anyways - so i eventually sent her over that way.

Order it, take a screen shot of it, and put the screen shot in a present.. he will get it, think it's something else and it will surprise him a huge amount. Even if it's late for Christmas, he'll still be ecstatic.
