A well-known example is that of the honey bee. Larvae that are fed with a pollen and nectar diet develop into worker bees, while those fed royal jelly develop into queens, growing larger and with different morphology

So does this make you exited that you can eradicate homosexuality altogether, or just for your own progeny.

Your analogy above make it appear there may be an evolutionary purpose for homosexuality

That is the question of the day. There are some things I would control about my offspring if I could, and some I would not try to control. I haven't thought through my reasoning on the distinctions, but suffice it to say that sexuality is within the category of those I would control if I could. Hetero all the way. That's just me.

To anyone with an understanding of science and genetics, this seems obvious. If homosexuality were genetic in nature, it would no longer be in existence, on account of the genes not being passed on from one generation to the next. It is a choice, always has been.

Does this mean that gayness can be "addressed" with some kind of therapy, diet or drug?
Absolutely! Just ask Michelle Bachmann's husband. His success rate isn't very good though. My theory is that we need to address the issue when people with the potentially epigenetic traits are children. I would like to organize a charter school to help these kids out. The Poodlebrain Pussy Academy For Curious Adolescents would serve two distinct societal functions. It would provide the students in question with positive feedback from heterosexual encounters with the teachers I would hire who like having sex with their students. My hope is that we could reduce the incidence of homosexuality while while providing a healthy outlet for female teachers who want to have sex with their students. Sort of a killing two birds with one stone approach to dealing with social issues that are just misunderstood by the general public.

I know of two kids right now from great families with normal straight brothers/sisters who started showing signs of being gay as early as 2nd grade.
I can't believe 100% that those kids were choosing that route at such a young age.

So does that mean we should start treating the obese as bad as we treat the gay population, because to be honest I'd be all for that.

Ir eally dont mind guys or gals being gay, I know plenty of really cool gays. What I DO NOT Get is what causes so many gay guys to be such fairys. I mean sure, be gay, its all good if you love each other. But to those gay guys who prance around acting like women, be a man. Gay, but a man. Geeze.

It's pretty strange for a kid in 2nd grade to show a sexual interest of any kind - gay or straight - at such a young age. Maybe someone should talk to those kids' parents. . .

those scientists are imbecils. Of course gayness comes from DNA. Where else would it come from? Choice?

Evolutionarily speaking, if homosexuality was solely a genetic trait, scientists would expect the trait to eventually disappear because homosexuals wouldn't be expected to reproduce.

"The hereditary link of homosexuality has long been established,"

False premise. They have not been able to associate homosexuality with specific gene locations so they have come up with this epi-mark theory to explain it.

What the study doesn't acknowledge is that environment accounts for at least 50% of who we are as individuals. Each of us have inheritance from both our mothers and fathers. In other words we all have both male and female characteristics the degree of which determines whether we are considered male or female. We have all seen men with feminine mannerisms and likewise females who look and behave more like men. However these physical and behavior attributes do not necessarily mean that such individuals will be homosexuals; their environment/upbringing also plays a key role. In other words sexuality still becomes a choice though granted physical/behavioral attributes can make the choice more difficult. Intuitively this would have to be the case, otherwise there would be no bisexual individuals.

Unfortunately reading comprehension appears to be stuck in some people's DNA.

It's hereditary. And it's not as simple as the mother eating a certain type of fruit or smoking a brand of cigarettes.

That's not at all what epigenetic means.

You have pretty poor understanding of genetics.
