Tomorrow our water will be off all morning while the city works on the pipes near our building. Management sent a memo yesterday explaining how to handle the bathroom situation:

I would purposely eat $20 worth of El Maguey tonight and leave a huge bomb in the bathroom.

Personally I thought it was a pretty goofy that he put that in the email. Just trying to prevent a crappy situation.
Though I should probably be thankful considering my office is adjacent to the bathrooms.

WTF? My company has had the water out in the BR and they just let everyone go home. Does it follow OSHA to require people to shite someplace else? Seems like a violation.

Managements plan seems logical although inconvenient for a shirt time.
Make use of it and take an extra break.
Take a drive and relax, gab brunch?

Happened at my last job but it was for almost a whole day. They sent a similar email but it didn't say anything about #2. Just said to use your best judgment and if the need arises we could always walk to the business next door which the owners of my work also owned.

Except I work at a consulting firm and we have to fill out time sheets everyday. A couple of the other guys were considering filling one out saying 30 min for a No. 2.

why would you have to fill out a timesheet to leave to go to the restroom?
you should not have to be inconvenienced by losing time because your workplace cannot provide such a necessity

We are supposed to account for our day bc we charge billable hours, but it also helps them check our productivity when we do a lot of non-billable work.
We don't literally have to fill out a slip for a bathroom break, but it seems like a good slam on our time system.
