I take it back, this makes it worth more.

Adam I race out of SYC in New Orleans. Post on LINK /

There's no more Wednesday night racing until the spring but posting on that site will do you a lot of good.

Pretty sure geauxt watched the men that rode the ocean switch from sail to steam.

Not that I would admit to on this board

Why would you not admit to sailing on the outdoor board? Nobody knows boats and rope and weather better than a sailor.

Oh and just to throw some recent trivia at ya... Here's two weeks ago when the Sailrocket guys smashed all speed records for a sailboat.

Over 65 knots.

Here's the video of the run.

This thread has peaked my interest. There are several clubs here around North Alabama. I see them out just about everytime were out fishing or in the ski boat. I'm getting a little older and like the thoughts of slowing down a little.

I had to open it. I was wondering how they were going to circumvent the theoretical hull speed. Pretty cool rig.

You know at some point someone will be scaling that up and using some of that tech to make cargo vessels use a whole lot less fuel. They're already using kites on tankers for that reason.

as long as you can get the bitch to plane, hull speed limit goes away. It would be badass in the future if they could come up with some design that could come to a plane in a displacement hull.

Then it wouldn't be a displacement hull...
