A lot of people do. The three early econs are used to weed out students. They're not impossible (I did well in all three), but you see about 20-30% fail and have to retake the class. On top of that, only 5-10% get As. It's disproportionate and the lack of good vetted teachers for this class is a large problem. Most teachers for them are generally grad students teaching for their first or second semester.

Personally, this shite pisses me off. Jackass students write this kind of crap on my evals every semester, saying the class is too hard, impossible to pass, tests are too complicated, blah, blah, blah.
No, it's not high school, dipshits, but I give you five topics to focus on for each week's material. Learn the topics and how they're related to each other and you'll do fine, but you have to be in a constant state of studying, always preparing yourself for making an A+. Waiting until the last minute or dead week to start studying isn't going to hack it.
Moreover, you've had 16 weeks to take the class. At any point during that time did the thought occur to you that you weren't doing so well in the class and needed to speak with the prof to find out what you could/should be doing differently, or did you sit in the back, stare at the ceiling, and hope against hope that somehow your grade would magically improve?
For fricks sake, what's wrong with some of these people?
And for the record, if the prof is bat- shite crazy and his tests are completely off-the-wall, with zero correlation to the material presented in class and the assigned readings, then you need to go see the department chair about it. That's legitimate grounds for a grievance complaint. My guess, however, is that this is not the case.
ETA: Comment not directed at Breesus...the rant just kind of grew as I was typing.

You guys should hear the horror stories we get in high schools today about grades. Our system is flawed, and it prepares these kids for them to feel everyone is cut out of college and just because they are "there" means they should pass.
A degree is tougher than a high school diploma, get over it or start asking "do you want fries with that?"

No true at all, unless you agree that SU-NO is the best available education you can receive in Louisiana.
Just because you did poorly in an early class known for high failure rates doesn't mean you should drop out of school.
