I didn't really know all that much about this - doing more research - scary stuff. How long after he tore his rotator cuff did the sepsis "happen"? (If that's the proper way to phrase it.)

It's been a week since the injury, he wet to the doctor and they took X-rays, put him on anti inflamatories, muscle relaxers and pain meds and said come back in a week and we will see if you need surgery. A week would be this coming thursday. They didn't mention it then, but it was a massive amount of infection. Seems hard to miss to me, so I guess some time between then and tonight.

Septic Shock is a difficult condition to treat. My sister died from it. When you get into multi-organ failure the odds of survival are dramatically reduced. Have they treated him with any anti-inflammatory drugs? That is one of the protocol's for the condition and occasionally can help with the vascular collapse.
