That is just absurd, do you really think they are gonna be using that phone to get a job? Please....

Just had a guy apply for a job, and on his "special skills" he put .. "I am a ninja, and can shoot fire through my hands." I am assuming it's his way of appeasing job service or his PO, by filling out applications.

I agree completely; it's frustrating. I've also decided that there isn't much I can do about it. Just gotta work hard and attract and save enough income to insulate me and my family from the economic and social downward trend that is sure to continue. My new line of thinking is to acknowledge that They will tax me more, but I will be fine. I do worry for my kids though so now I plan beyond my own retirement and plan for their long-term benefit.

Good luck Tiger good luck! Last month, environmentalists cheered as California launched a cap-and-trade program, but talks of a federal carbon tax raised concerns about double taxation. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that while the chances of a federal tax on carbon emissions being adopted are still remote, California state officials are worried enough to have started discussing the prospect. “We are aware that it is a possibility, and we have been considering it as of late,” said California Air Resources Board spokesman Stanley Young. “We want to make sure that California companies continue to transition into the program without any sort of disadvantage.” I fear you made need all the luck you can get!

People who do not have a phone of any kind will never be employable. Giving them one will not change anything. It is so cheap to have a home phone and an answering machine. If you are not responsible enough to have a phone at this point then you will never make it. These phones will produce zero jobs outside of the producers of the service and products. It is one of those feel good things. One of those warm and fuzzy things to say but once you really think about it then you realize it makes no sense.

Not exactly. Cap and trade is a supply constraint, whereas the carbon tax is actually a tax. Both are terrible policies adopted by idiots that want huge expansion of the federal government to the detriment of the US. Strange how badly this will harm impoverished individuals and it's so blindly pushed by the left. I guess such a negative effect would actually need to be reported though. Oops, media drops the ball again when backing this horrid cap and trade program that may not even curb global carbon emissions.

The supply constraint certainly will just raise prices and make market volatility on that front even greater. So the end result is the same, just cap and trade is scarier because it's more politically expedient to hide the wool over the sheeple and largely expand bureaucracy. It is actually a very scary piece of legislation that could actually result in an increase in carbon emissions. I'm not scared of the increase in carbon emissions, just concerned over such an overreaching piece of legislation pushed by dumbasses that are completely clueless.

When are you bleeding heart fricktards going to get it through your thick skulls, that there are many poor and homeless who don't want jobs. Why you may ask? Because our system that is constantly increasing doesn't require them too. You're a fool if you feel a free cell phone will decrease the number of the homeless and poor because they find employment.

When I went to court to pay a traffic ticket the judge asked the guy before me why he didn't pay the ticket. He said he didn't have a job. The judge asked for his phone number so he could connect him with job openings. Before he could finish telling the number the judge said he was under arrest and that if he had money to pay for a cell phone he had money to pay for a ticket.

yes, and I think that is the point of what they are trying to address. But I don't think it will work. Which is what I fricking said on the first page several times, but I was ignored b.c you fricktards can't fricking read. The thing is cell phone penetration is very high, so most marginally employable people will likely have a phone. I mentored a kid who was dirt poor, 9 people in his house, lived a lot of gov't assistance, didn't have a dad around. He had a cell phone. He was 11. And his mother bought him a cell phone, and a plan. If he has a phone, anyone who could possibly get a job can get one.
