| Must have wedding registry kitchen items (Posted on 12/8/12 at 8:53 pm)
Going to register soon with my fiancée and I don't want to just wander around pointing and shooting the gun. What should I look for? I think we are doing Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Thanks guys

We also got some nice glasses. The wine glasses were from Riedel and the rocks and highball glasses were from Luigi Bormioli

Things that are nice to have but you hate buying yourself, like: a good corkscrew Barware Small chopper/food processor Decent steak knives List things that are a variety of prices--even if something seems "cheap", some people won't spend a lot or like to put together a bunch af small things (like cooking utensils). If you like that awesome but expensive set of pots, go ahead and list it (along with maybe some individual ones). Several people might go in together to get something really high, you might be able to use gift cards for it, or you might be able to exchange a few individual pots for the set.

you got any more of that scotch, i don't even remember my 20th.. eta: when we were young into our marriage, I would have loved to have had the cash instead of all those pretty china dishes and high dollar silverware..

I will bust out a good bottle for the three of us anytime. I would imagine the OP would listen to us and go into a mild coma. Or a jerking spell.

Haha! I'm a firefighter, I have gotten that speech at the station several times. I'm looking forward to it, I've got an awesome woman who's laid back and takes good care of me.

my father always offered the groom to be $100 and a Greyhound ticket to anywhere. Well times have changed.. You should look forward to it. Mine, after 20 years is still awesome as well. We have our moments but that is the spice of it. We were old when we married and I think that helped. And I'd be glad and honored to buy you a drink. A very good friend of mine is a BR firefighter Caption.

Tervis Tumblers are great. Reasonably priced. Make sure you pick some low and high end. You can also return what you don't want and buy what you need. Do you and the bride cook a lot?

Do you do a lot of entertaining? If so, check out this article from Southern Living on the 10 Essential Serving Pieces. I use the hell out of my Kitchen Aid immersion blender. Register for the box with all the attachments. At least 3 cutting boards in different sizes. I picked up one at BBB that's pretty small, and I think I use it most out of all of mine. I've never had anything from OXO that I didn't like using. Imo their stuff is excellent quality for the price. So, I'd register that brand for all your small kitchen stuff (ie peelers, dish wash stuff) eta- Le Creuset stuff is really nice, but I'd consider the people coming to your showers and wedding. Are they going to pay $100 and above for one pot? If no then I'd look into other brands. A lot of Food Network people have their own versions of similar pots.

This...also like everyone mentioned the Le Creuset stuff is really good. A good food processor and a rice cooker are always helpful.

Go register at Judy Martin on Jefferson Highway for your crystal and china. Also register at Dillard's. They have a really nice department that people don't realize and they have good prices.

9 Years into and the things we use the most are.... -Electric Fryer -A good knife sharpener, I suggest a work sharp knife sharpener. -Make sure your whatever style cast iron pots you get to choose one with a rounded bottom. -A nice stainless colander Me and my wife also chose some everyday dinner ware and some nice silverware that we use daily in the place of good china.

This is true. You're not "married" to anything anyone gives you. You can change your mind and return to get things you want or need a the time. My niece listed a variety of items at many difference prices. She returned a ton of things and got what she didn't get that wanted or other things she realized she wanted or needed. The different prices allowed for folks of different means to get gifts within their budgets. Also allowed her to return things for credit.
