so now he has a free kidney, but he can't afford the anti rejection drugs, so It will likely fail, he'll likey die, and an American that could have had the kidney will also die.
And when I say die, people on dialysis dont live for many years. They have short life expenctancy after their kidneys stop working.

this kid is a student. it was not his choice to move here. blame his parents. should he be just left to die? it says he was on dialysis (sp) for like 10 years. this surgery must have been necessary to save his life.

Agreed. The guy got taken here as a 1 year old and has lived here ever since. I don't have a big problem with this.

Someone is going to die because someone else didn't get that kidney.
The point is do you want us taxpayers to pay for illegal immigrants to get a kidney that could have went to a us taxpayer

i think this says more about how bad our current health care system sucks more than it does anything about illegal immigration, especially considering the guy has been living here ever since he can remember.

How do we know that this guy is a pedophile/rapist? Also, if his parents would have stayed in mexico, he would have most likely died from their poor medical care. He is going to die because he has bad kidneys, nobody's fault, that's just the hand he was dealt. But, America should not take care of the rest of the world's medical problems until she has taken care of her own.

How can you guarantee that the immigrant isn't a drug dealing serial killer?
I mean if you're gonna make assumptions...
FWIW I don't have an issue with it. The guy's lived here for 23 years, he's paying some taxes one way or another. It may not be his fair share but that still doesn't mean he deserves to die.
I'd be interested to know what the process was for him to be approved above other patients in need.

Yup. And the procedure was probably performed by some resident for training purposes.
My guess is that loyola UMC will end up footing the bill for his medications as well though. It's hard to imagine a circumstance where they would transplant without a contingency plan in place for the medicine.
