I think this is going to be a close game. The main matchup to keep an eye on is the Barbe offense against the Rummel defense. Rummel could have 15,000+ fans sitting on their side. I see the Raiders pulling it out late with a clock eating drive and field goal to seal it.

Rummel needs to tell their RBs to stop running after 5-6 yards. I know it will be hard, but that's the only way to grind out a win versus Barbe. You think, "Oh we'll just run it up the middle and keep their offense off the field". Then your QB runs for 300+ and 5 touchdowns and they kick onside kicks to keep your offense off the field. So practice recovering onside kicks, tell your backs to only gain 5 yards a carry, double team Quinn, and spy Fontenot. You should win relatively easy if you do those things.

Nah, I thought I laid it on thick enough so everyone knew I was just playing. Barbe has the best offense in the state. They can beat anyone on any given night.

Very anxious to see how Rummels defensive backs match up. Barbe will have some turnovers with the way they pass the ball so much. Last week they had none and WM had three.

I watched the Rummel-Mandeville semifinal game last weekend. The Raiders play stout defense and can really eat up some clock on offense - really the perfect recipe for beating Barbe.
That being said, I also watched the replay of the Barbe-West Monroe game. I made mention after the semifinal games (before I watched the ABHS-WMHS replay) that Rummel is tailor-made to beat Barbe because of their style of play. I think it was JJ87 who said that teams can attempt to pound the clock with long, time-consuming drives against Barbe, but their defense is so bad, that many inadvertent TDs are scored in the process. Eventually, they make you play shootout with them, whether you like it or not.
