You don't have that right. It's the federal governments job so I will insist that Obama and his cronies get their asses there and get shot by the invaders. We as Americans have no rights.

Bosnia or Serbia/Kosovo, I don't recall us actually going to war in Bosnia? Serbia/Kosovo is probably the clearest case of illegal aggression by the US in the past 100 years.

Now that Toddy has the "right to be in the military" he better not run his happy arse to the border but should be the first to enlist instead of waiting for his number to be called.

Now you wouldn't call them "draft dodgers" would you? (Title of thread)? quote:
(avoiders, dodgers, deserters) did not do so out of concience.
That's what they were called. If one differed with the reason of the war and refused to go, would they not be a "draft dodger" due to conscience as in, "I am not going because I don't believe is this war"? (again - thread title). They would have to leave the country, go to jail or be on the run.

No, that is not a "conscientious objector", it is necessary to be opposed to all wars. You are not using the terms in their accepted meanings. The vast majority of those who resited, avoided, fled did not do so out of conscience, the were not CO's.

I stand corrected. We never went to "war".....we deployed military forces on a peacekeeping mission. That is how it was put to us. Made me sleep better at night all warm and cozy, knowing we were not at war.

We haven't been at "war" with anyone in about 70 years.

Nope. Doesn't mean I'll fight in their war. I'll choose whom I will fight, and when.

Good question to ask. Being we are a counrty founded on civil freedom and furious discourse I would say there are situations where I could see myself not participating in a draft but still standing firm on fighting for the homeland. At home.

Do you think you were at war? Were there any casualties (beyond accidents or suicides) in Joint Endeavor? Are you saying it wasn't a peace keeping mission? My recollection is Clinton only commited troops to Bosnia after the Dayton agreement, a totally different operation than in the FRY/kosovo.

and i would have no problem killing you or any other draft dodger. Draft dodgers are the same as mutineers. Period. And they should be treated the same way. Not to mention, draft dodgers means someone else goes in your place so you are in effect sentencing someone else to death.

I would only fight if the area where I lived was being attacked.

It's so funny to me that the people on here that bash the current government the most would be the first to go to war if it told them they had to!

The US hasn't had a draft since 'Nam and will never have another one. Drafting idiots would lessen our effectiveness.

Why would we draft idiots? A random selection of the population gets a random cohort, then you screen the same way you do inductees. We have won wars with draftees and they are no worse than volunteers to serve with.
