It won't be that because its owned by Nike, but that shows how many possibilities there are with this.

Nice work. The Pelican has lots of potential, hopefully they don't screw it up and make it cartoony when it can be majestic and fearsome.

And I'd just like to point out that people are bitching like crazy about the name Pelicans and it being cartoony when:
Our mascot is a gay cartoon hornet wearing white gloves. I mean...seriously.

it's also one of the most recognizable mascots (though associated with charlotte) in all of professional sports.

I don't think the Brass falls into the same category as Thunder and Magic.

it does. we'd have a revolving door of sucky horny logos revolving around the word brass. When people think brass, they wouldn't associate immediately with an object or identity.

People who aren't even Hornets fans wear the Hornets flatbills because it's so popular. Stores still sell Charlotte Hornets hats. Even stores in New Orleans.
