what? he killed it at Tulsa. his first year at AU, he improved their offense substantially from the year before, iirc. he did really well every year except his last at AU, which was supposedly full of Chizik's meddling.
I remember that tulsa team. They lost to our shite show of a team that year. I think people forget how bad we were that year....that team and this years team would have been a good matchup.

like, your post suggests he should keep assistants that might stab him in the back. that by itself is the dumbest thing in this thread. besides that, based upon the clusterfrick of this last season and the way Tuberville left, it's obvious there was something rotten in the AU program. malzahn leaving before this season, if anything, shows me he has good intuition. i'd want a clean house, too, if i was an AU fan.

The good news to this is that if Gus is a success there we all know where his dream destination job is. I'm not an absolute gus hater but would like to see consistent high level success from him before we do something crazy like hire him.

And we're getting it. Dude has come in and told long time clingerons to get the frick out. Wayne Bolt and Tim Jackson, who have been collecting bull shite paychecks since the Pat Dye days got their walking papers yesterday. Yoxall, who really could and maybe should have been retained, has been at AU since Tuberville in 1999 and got his papers yesterday as well. He didn't just come in and clean up a few rooms in the house. He burnt the whole motherfricker down. I'm loving it, as it's something we've asked for for years.

I'd say everyone came out of this rather well. Everybody but TN got one of their first targets. I don't like Gus personally but he's a good coach and will win at auburn like he has everywhere else. Stoops is walking into a tough situation but I assume he will get every chance to succeed. Jones isn't the name hire they wanted but is a clear upgrade over hairdo. I'm pretty pumped about 2beez.

I'd bookmark this to throw your comments back in your face in 3 years. Too bad the board won't be around much longer so I'll do it now. You've been railing against the Bielema hire, that's how I know it's really #1 in your heart. If what you wrote about BB is all you know of him then you are gonna look stupider and stupider.

To me the hogs had hands down the best hire. After that I like the Tenn. hire and auburn hire. Really don't care for the kentucky hire but its kentucky they have to save money for basketball.

Arkansas made a terrible coaching hire. A big10 coach that cried anout urban meyers recruiting..he will stroke out in the sec conf. His ground and pound game wont go well with arky fans as the year goes on and will not be able to recruit in sec, this hire is almost as bad as kentucky.
Everybody see's this but Arky fan, Well some Arky fans. Smart ones see it too.

Do you venture anywhere outside this board? Maybe you should take a look at some ESPN, CBS, etc articles and see if ONE agrees with you.

I know this ranking is only your opinion, but I think there's a total lack of reasoning behind it. Arkansas got the most proven coach. A coach that won a major conference title 3 years in a row. Tennessee got a coach who has a conference title and has proven he can coach. Auburn got a coach that hasn't proven anything as a HC. The history of college football is littered with guys who were a "mastermind coordinator" and couldn't cut on the big stage. I know because LSU has hired a few of them over the years. Kentucky...see above.
