I feel like people actually believe that there's a name we could have chosen that would have been universally awesome and pleasing to everyone.

There were some names that at least a decent amount of people liked, I haven't talked to a single person that likes pelicans

Based on hornets forum responses, Voodoo is really the only name that would have been well received IMO. I think Brass would have possibly worked too because even though it didn't have a ton of support, the people that didn't like it were fairly neutral rather than passionate haters. Literally any other name would be getting a similar meltdown response.

1) That doesn't matter. Whatever name the Hornets pick will work because they have the marketing muscle and exposure to make it work. It will be beat into your head like that song you hated at first but now are ok with because you can't stop singing it because they play it on the radio all the time. 2) You can't judge a name in a vacuum. A good logo can make a huge difference in a name's acceptance.

If you don't like Pelicans (or whatever name they call them), should have put your $338 million up and named them whatever you wanted to.
