| Obamas Vacation Cliff:What's At Stake? (Posted on 12/6/12 at 12:56 pm)
The Vacation Cliff: What's at Stake President Obama is planning a nice 21 day vacation from December 17 through January 6th, 2013. Year after year, the President has had to DELAY his Hawaii vacation due to the failure of Congress to get their work done on time. This year, the nation faces an impending fiscal cliff at the end of the year if Congress does not act. The Republicans know that the President cannot depart on his vacation until this is resolved and are using that to their advantage. Fortunately, President Obama is well-equipped to deal with this vexing situation. The President's desk awaits his arrival in Kailua LINK

Why should he have trouble sleeping after he cleaned the GOP's clock AGAIN? He also doesn't have to fight silly Republicans who are hell bent on saving wealthy tax cuts which are set to expire automatically. This should be a lesson to Dems to NEVER agree to tax cuts to the wealthiest(even temporary cuts like Bush's).

Why hasn't he proposed cuts to the budget? The soak the rich thing is a red herring and you know it. It helps the budget to the tune of $80B when the deficit being run annually is $1.2 trillion.

You have to have a budget to propose cuts to it!

Why didn't the dems and Obama raise them in 2009 or 2010? They had complete control and they could have allowed them to expire, but instead the dems extended them.

b.c the dems are idiots. It would have been a slam dunk. I don't see a problem with the president vacationing during this. Is available by telephone. And Jan 1 is not really the date that matters. Its probably later in Jan. Liklihood of a deal probalby increases with obama out of town IMHO.

He's been out of town campaigning for the last four years so I don't think so.

Ok so tell me how we can afford his programs if we do tax the rich. You can't. Because its not mathematically possible. Enjoy your victory lap. Your boy can't solve this.
