| Libs: Explain "Fair Share" in your words (Posted on 12/6/12 at 1:55 pm)
I really want to know how you get to "Fair" share on the rich. Was it fair that I went to school for 12 years after highschool to become a Dr. emassing enormous student loans and delaying employment....No. Now I have to pay my "Fair" share, and last I looked, nobody is paying my loans off. Please explain why it isn't "fair" to pay the same amount of taxes as everyone else.

As a higher income earner you should pay more in taxes because that's how our progressive tax code works.

I doubt you're a doctor. This complaint of yours is a huge problem in our country. The truly rich are getting off, and the truly poor are getting off. It's the people in the middle that are getting screwed. Yes even you doc. Doctors might think they're rich, but they're just upper middle class. They're not anything close to elite. The ultra rich and truly poor get the welfare and it's paid for by the people in the middle.

As much as they can rip out of your hands, the perfect situation would be to get to a point where it is just under the amount that would make you go postal. This is the tax orgasmic zone.

This. I don't listen to him personally, but I hear Hannity asks this all the time and no libs ever have an answer. I have said on here numerous times that taxes for the rich are at almost 80 year lows and have little to no problem with them being raised, but what is interesting is in terms of receipts, Bush had higher numbers than Clinton and rates were higher under clinton. Interdasting.

Pretty much agree with this, lower income need to pay a little, everyone needs skin in the game.

Not when the national discussion is on income tax rates. Is that hard to comprehend?

So let's get rid of federal income tax, apparently we don't need it since a minority of citizens pay it.

"Fair" is whatever the benevolent State says it is, factoring in the evolving needs of The People, at any random point in time.

Let's go with a national sales tax. That way - you use it or buy it you have "skin the game" (which has become the most over used term on this board).

There are no 'truly poor' people in America.

Actually a flat tax would meet the requirement that higher income earners pay more in taxes.
