LINK Seriously if you are an atheist why are you offended by a tree or a symbol of what you don't believe in in the first place?

It's a private complex. They can do what they want.

Why are the Druids putting up the trees anyway?

I agree its stupid that a private company decided not to allow christmas trees or menorahs, but I am not sure it connects to any atheists in any way. If it does it isn't mentioned in the article.

private organizations should be able to control their private organization. if the residents dont like it, I suggest they move.

Atheists don't have a problem with Christmas trees...unless they don't understand where the tradition actual comes from. Hint: It isn't Christianity. Big fan of winter solstice celebrations myself.

here is the thing, i know no atheists who care about these type of things, but I know many Christians who make lots of noise about it and convince people, and companies, that these atheists are out there ready to complain about anything. I bet this is what happened here, to head off non existent protests that would never occur someone in the corporate office made the call to ban Christmas trees and menorahs.

This. When we reach the conclusion that a completely sterile society is, in fact, much more offensive to normal human sensibilities than any of the alternatives, maybe silliness like this will stop.

Maybe a Christian spoke up and had the pagan symbols banned? I'm an atheist and there's a small lighted tree in my living room right now.

I LOOOOOOVE Christmas!! Despite the fact that what must be 1/2 of my neighbors feel the need to plop "Keep christ in Christmas" signs all over their yards, I'm perfectly happy to secular it up and enjoy Christmas the way most Americans do. Lights, tree, garlands and wreaths, christmas music (even the religious songs!), get togethers, great food, gifts, etc. Some how I manage to enjoy the season without once believing any of the backstory. I'd bet good money that this crap didn't get taken down because Richard Dawkins was out lurking behind the bushes trying to yank down the tree like the damn Grinch. This reads like a corporate wank making a silly call...
