The Jambalaya Shoppe downtown is very good, but sometimes a little inconsistent.

only place in recent memory i've had gumbo in BR other than my house was Juban's. it was good

i like the seafood gumbo at LA Lagniappe and the andoille gumbo at Jubans.
other than that, i wouldnt order gumbo. id make it.

Dempsey's has my vote.
The Chimes has a really good duck gumbo.
I love having Jambalaya shop gumbo over jambalaya rice. So awesome.

Mike Anderson's has a pretty good Smoked Duck and Andouille Gumbo

I've heard Portobello's is good, and Uncle O's... I also like The Chimes.

Roberto's duck and andouille. To me the best restaurant gumbo in this area hands down. Juban's has a good one. Hymels' in Convent is pretty good too.
