can you quantify that for me? I know nothing about Letten and I'm just curious how much better things are now than prior to him being in that position.

Well he did nab Aaron Broussard, the Morial stooges (Pampy Barre), and soon to be Politician A (Errrrrrrrr Ray Nagin)and Fred Heebe(New Orleans Donald Trump).

Letten has done a very good job, but he has to go based upon the behavior of his key assistants even if he was clueless about their behavior.

The office is in major disarray, appeals are going to be made for retrials, convictions possibly set aside. It is going to cost the taxpayers big dollars (at least form the tax payer perspective) It is also IMHO distressing for prosecutors to be putting cops in jail for misjudgments in the heat of the moment, when they spend years violating their ethical codes if not the laws of the state and republic with the time to give much reflection to their violations.
He is the boss, it happened under his watch, he has to take responsibility.
Why do you think he is resigning if it isn't necessary?

my father bought a handgun from Letten several months ago...got to shoot the bull with him for an hour or so-----really cool down to earth guy. he will be sorely missed...scary to think of whom is replacement might be.....

Been a big supporter but once it came out he knew of the assistants "posting names" on NOLA.com I knew he'd have to go
hopefully it doesn't slow the Nagin prison train down
