Those aren't far walks. Grab a drink and walk.

BO, you are right on the money with almost everything, but the above generalization is F'ing ridiculous.

Give me some counter examples... In general, the Quarter is filled with Le Bayous, Pizzas, old line places that havent been good in years, and Brennan's locales. There are some bright spots, but there arent that many. The Quarter Bright Spots: Iris, Green Goddess, Johnny's Po boys, Central Grocery, Port o Call (50/50 on this), Galatoire's...Thats about it. Only one or two of those would fit for a bachelor party. ETA: Overall point is the eating outside of the Quarter, even just in Warehouse District is significantly better than the Quarter and better priced. I dont think that is debatable.

Arnaud's Bourbon suites would be fantastic for a B-party. Dickie Brennan's steakhouse. Oyster bar at Bourbon House. Hell a private room at Antoine's would be fun. (Admittedly the food isn't good there, but it would be fun.) As for other good spots to eat in the quarter, some may or may not be not B-party type spots, I'd point to the below. Meauxbar Sylvain GW Fins Bayona Stella! Cafe Amelie El Gato Negro Stanley Remoulades Itallian Barrel Cafe Du Monde Orleans Grapevine Mr B's Coops Irene's Maximo's NOLA Pelican Club Revolution Rib Room Soubou KPauls Bar at Tujaque's And yes, the above joints may have a price bump for being in the 1/4, some more than others. But your blanket statement is still ridiculous. ETA: We can agree to disagree. Cheers.

Your list is pretty good, and I'll agree there are better restaurants than my initial list. But still...

But still...you do not know what you're talking about. You left out some phenomenal restaurants in your initial "list".

Really? Bayona isn't a bright spot? ETA: I see someone else has thankfully listed the 20 something restaurants you omitted from your 'bright spots' list

I am normally on board with your knowledge, but damn this sounds bad. That's the list of hot spots that you come up with in the quarter? 6 places and one of those places is Port of Call? Seriously. I'll just leave my rant at that, as others have already beat me to it.

I did leave at Bayona which was accidental and there were some others on there. The other ones on the list are higher end, which was not what the OP was looking for a bachelor party. It is interesting, and not trolling, but overall do people think food in the Quarter is good, bad, ugly, excellent compared to the rest of the city?

Seems like you are basing it more on the location than the actual food. Just my opinion. There are a ton of places in that small area. Of course there are some bad ones, but I think the good ones hold up to any in the city.

For instance, Meauxbar is on that list. I dont think Meauxbar would be in the top 5 "French style Bistros" in town. Not even close. Stella! is so obnoxiously overpriced now, that I dont think I could recommend anyone go there, but the wine list is the tits. The Brennan's places I steer clear of, if I have my druthers. Cafe du Monde is a gem though.
