I would've happily applauded his achievement. Something only 5 other people in history have ever accomplished? That deserves recognition, regardless of team affiliation.

it's an arbitrary number. when he hit 29997 did you applaud? only 4 other people before him had done that. when he passes Wilt, let me know, and i'll give him a fricking cookie
