| US-approved arms falling into hands of Jihadis (Posted on 12/6/12 at 8:51 am)
quote:
The Obama administration secretly gave its blessing to arms shipments to Libyan rebels from Qatar last year, but American officials later grew alarmed as evidence grew that Qatar was turning some of the weapons over to Islamic militants, according to United States officials and foreign diplomats. No evidence has emerged linking the weapons provided by the Qataris during the uprising against Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi to the attack that killed four Americans at the United States diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September. But in the months before, the Obama administration clearly was worried about the consequences of its hidden hand in helping arm Libyan militants, concerns that have not previously been reported. The weapons and money from Qatar strengthened militant groups in Libya, allowing them to become a destabilizing force since the fall of the Qaddafi government.
LINK CIA is not mentioned in this article. Not sure what that means, if anything.

The United States, which had only small numbers of C.I.A. officers in Libya during the tumult of the rebellion, provided little oversight of the arms shipments. Within weeks of endorsing Qatar’s plan to send weapons there in spring 2011, the White House began receiving reports that they were going to Islamic militant groups Here they are. Looks like the agency is ready to leak. They also want to make sure to point out how few agents were there on our behalf. Thereby, pointing to State Dept.

Hmmmmmm....... Sounds like our own weapons were likely used on our consulate by the militants.

Kinda brings to mind the old saying, "if you ban guns, only the bad guys will have guns".

To be expected, no one wants to touch this. Iran-Contra re-dux. Problem is, a compliant/subservient media chose to ignore the potential implications previously.

1. Dereliction of Duty. Dereliction of duty is a specific offense under United States Code Title 10,892. Article 92 and applies to all branches of the US military. A service member who is derelict has willfully refused to perform his duties (or follow a given order) or has incapacitated himself in such a way that he cannot perform his duties. Such incapacitation includes the person falling asleep while on duty requiring wakefulness, his getting drunk or otherwise intoxicated and consequently being unable to perform his duties, or his vacating his post contrary to regulations. Article 92 also applies to service members whose acts or omissions rise to the level of criminally negligent behavior. * Dereliction of duty may also be used to describe an elected official failing to perform his duty. If an elected official is found guilty of dereliction of duty, he may be impeached. 2. Treason. noun (Concise Encyclopedia) Offense of attempting to overthrow the government of one’s country or of assisting its enemies in war. In the U.S., the framers of the Constitution defined treason narrowly—as the levying of war against the U.S. or the giving of aid and comfort to its enemies—in order to lessen the possibility that those in power might falsely or loosely charge their political opponents with treason.
