unplugged everything for several months once: tv, internet, radio, phone, didn't read papers. i actually had a good reason for this.
phone was the best, going to bed at night knowing it wasn't going to ring.
and when I turned everything back on, that was an eyeopening experience.

I'd like to think I'm somewhat addicted.
However I find human interaction in debate and conversations along with reading articles online to be more informative and useful than spending it in front of a TV.
Overall I'd say its for the best.

if your so-called definition of "addicted" means that the long hours on the internet are taking time away from my friends and family and adversly affecting my performance at work, then yea, i guess i'm "addicted"

one of the times I did this (a 7 day backpacking trip with no electronics signals), one of my best friends got in a pretty bad wreck, and could have easily died.
It shook me up pretty bad knowing that he could have died and been buried before I would have even known about it.
