I'm not sure where I stand on this debate. I think overall power...Mystic Gohan has the edge. I know the SSJ3 form will drain Goku's power rapidly, while (Mystic) Gohan will sustain his energy. Goku also has the edge in technique, and all around warrior knowledge. SSJ3 Goku was the one on the Kai planet fighting Kid Buu. Another curveball, in Wrath of the Dragon, Hirudegarn was killed by SSJ3 Goku. The almighty Kakarot just has THE will to win. Before someone says it, Vegito doesn't count. This is not a fusion discussion. Anyway, all the signs point to SSJ3 Goku being the strongest imo.

Gohan had the strength to beat Buu which SSJ3 Goku didn't. I honestly don't see how this is a discussion. Sure Goku has "the will" but Gohan is the most powerful. And Goku will admit that.

Meant to say I think overall power...Mystic Gohan has the edge.
Mystic Gohan > Super Buu > Kid Buu > SSJ3 Goku in pure power.
ETA: Fixing it for myself...bad choice of words. Should have said, all the signs point to SSJ3 Goku best all around warrior imo. Don't forget, we are talking DBZ. Goku will find a way to win.

I just finished rewatching the cell saga. Gohan beat a fully perfect cell, stronger after almost being killed by his own blast, with one arm, while bleeding to death, and almost drained of power. All around warrior is probably Goku. I'll give you that, but his more smug, more arrogant, more powerful, more badass son is superior in battles.
