don't lump me in with that bull shite son. Criticizing the O and D aren't mutually exclusive.

We've also only had 2 legit QBs and our offense was awesome those years. And showed signs of life this year with a talented but inexperienced QB

it's been mentioned before, but I think Les still can't get over the nightmare of 2008. He seems to allow the offense to move forward periodically, but at the first sign of trouble puts the brakes back on. As far as Stud goes, I think the OC position is his until Kragthorpe isn't able to coach full time. At that point a new blood will be brought in...IMHO of course.

I guess I just wonder how we had 3 OCs that produced sub-par results and 2 four star qbs that just happened to not pan out. sort of disgusts me to be honest. (for the record, Jimbo was obviously better than Studrathorpe and Crowton)

Les needs to go full Bobby Bowden and step back to let some coordinators work. Just be the CEO and oversee the kingdom.

no, that's 2...the HC and the fans who haven't been happy with the OC

Lets be honest here, Miles has nothing to do with defense. Defense has been our success due to Chavis. Miles was an OC, and o-line coach. I'm sure he has his hand in there.

C'mon that's one game... though it was AWFUL. But the guy knew how to prepare QBs which obviously no one else did as evidenced by the progress of Lee and Jefferson

not a lot of material to work with, as it turned out. Although it's amazing the record over their last 2 years given their limitations. The last half of the year, Mett started to look like a real QB, let's hope that continues. And the 2 in the next class look strong, hopefully they'll develop and this run of bad luck will be over. Frankly Mettenberger being available probably saved Miles job.

So obviously you think Les is calling ALL the plays. The head coach is responsible for the concept and identity of your offense. Unless Les is calling every play, your example is on the offensive coordinator not Les. I think he has a BIG part in the scheming and by big, I mean maybe too much. All I know for fact is that since he's been here we've had 3 offensive coordinators that no one was really quite happy with. There's one common denominator... I suppose the only people who truly know 100% are the guys in the locker room.
This guy i work with...his brother knows a particular LSU player that left early for the draft last year. Said it's pretty much like the Saints offense with the head coach calling the plays but with out that kind of effectiveness.

If true les is behind it. He never cuts any ody loose without setting them up first. Probably works out well for his ex girlfriends.

I just hope that we run a successful offense that doesn't just slam on the breaks at the first sign of trouble and put it all on the D at the end. They could run the fricking veer for all I give a shite if they were good at it.

This is false. Miles and Stud have said as much. Stud writes up the game plan with input from the coaching staff. He calls the plays from the booth with input from Miles. Have you ever called a game from the sidelines? You need a birds eye to get a real good look at the defense, which is where the booth comes in. Also, explain to me how we had the 9th ranked offense in 2007 with Crowton and ranking went down after that. You mean to tell me that Les, all of the sudden, handcuffed the playbook? Give it a rest. Back on topic, if Stud does move on, a real possibility for OC is Todd Monken from OSU.
