I agree. There's seems to be 2 or 3 names that would have universally accepted as at least "fine." Instead, they took the choice that 3% of the population seems to love, while the rest either absolutely hate it and/or are trying to convince themselves that its not as bad as it sounds.

The rest of the country, judging from National sites, thinks Cajuns and Crawfish are great names.

We live in a cynical internet age, where everyone is trying to outdo themselves over how big of a dick they can be. Twitter reaction is the most irrelevant thing I can think of.
