Agreed. I crave the constant flow of information, or the ability to input my thoughts, or instantly answer any question I have or learn about anything I am unsure of instantly. A smartphone is such a useful tool though, I think the good outweighs the bad.

True. I still get consulted all the time on what things mean or how to spell them or some obscure bit of trivia though. Makes me feel useful.

Excuse me while I go tie a noise around my shower rod or something because fr33 depressed the frick out of this thread.
You do know everyone is different, right? Got a few friends that work shift work and when they're off have decent social lives and are active. It's just about juggling work and home correctly.

Exactly. Not counting turnarounds, most operators work 6-7 months out of the year. Sure, some of it is in nights and when you do work during the day its for 12 hours as well But it's 4 days a week. Maybe 3 here and there depending on roll overs. I'll bite the bullet and work those type of hours, miss a couple of my kids games, dances whatever. Ill be glad to if you're willing to pay me what you're paying me and letting me off as much as you are.
Fr33 is dramatizing the frick out of this thread.
