Fatass here. But I've done a lot of research since I started working out about a year ago and have seen progress in the last year.
To answer the question of the OP, yes. You should be taking in a lot of protein every day, not just lift days. You don't necessarily NEED to take in the protein after a workout unless you're working out in a fasted state, but there are benefits of taking in protein after a workout.
