Well considering I knew one of these contractors that made it 2 months out there it didn't sound as good for him. His camp was hit with missles twice and he slept in tents. He said bump this 100k and get my arse back to the

I often ponder taking my PS3 with me, but it hardly seems worth the hassle of lugging it around daily.

I really need to read more. Growing up, that was damn near all I did.
Now I've gotten in to writing, producing.
Perhaps it's that I don't want my work to become subconsciosly derivative. But then again I'm discovering that theories I've come up with of my own volition aren't new at all.
It's a fine line to toe

My dad works shift work and I honestly haven't a clue what he does when he isn't working. I know during the day, he'll troll around the admin office for a little while, I know this cause I worked there one summer. He doesn't have a smart phone, he isn't a big computer person. I suppose he does read, he was raiding me for reading material the other day.
ETA: He's on days right now though, and they are shut down. The good thing is they feed him well, but he's been working his arse off. My mom said he came in last night and went to bed at 8:30. He usually goes to bed at 10-10:30

I make comparable and work a comparable amount. Director of Neurology with a specialty in Sleep. Forever I just did sleep studies. Once the patients are hooked up and asleep there isn't much to do. We have TV/Cable/DVD and like I said, I used to bring my Xbox. Now I'm primarily days since I became director. So I actually work a lot more.

You also miss doing shite with your kids...you can't really coach their teams or anything like that. High salaries require quite a bit of overtime. You don't get off for the holidays, you can't just duck out a couple hours on a whim.
It's certainly not for everyone.

Overpaid shift worker here, bored out of his mind (but probably different shift worker than you Fr33)
If I didn't have the internet....I would spiral out of control on the night shift. TV and movies just doesn't cut it anymore.

Not being sarcastic or whatever. That's crazy.
As a night nurse I am sometimes running my butt off all night taking care of patients and some nights I have a nice night, where my patients sleep all night and I have lots of downtime during my 12 hours.
And yes...night shift gets paid more because we are paid to stay awake all night.

Yup. A slave to the shift. And then you can't leave until relief gets there. And if they call in, you're stuck until someone else gets there.

I do. We swap back and forth every set. But my mind...ah, my mind belongs to the night now.
Worked a slew of days for turnaround, then they switched it up and I was back on nights for two, go back on days for two, then another slog of nights.
