As far as coaching goes, I find them quite similar in style offensively. Both rely on a solid running attack that places execution ahead of deception. So both require superior offensive line play for offensive success. The passing attack is most successful when it takes advantage of play action passes set up by the running game. Defensively, it is hard to make a comparison as Miles has clearly had better athletes to deploy than Bielema. Wisconsin was generally solid against the run, but susceptible to being outrun by speedy backs and receivers. Bielema will have to step up his game as a recruiter if he wants to beat Miles and LSU. He will need to improve the quality and depth of the OL and DL to do so. The players he needs are out there. He just has to prove that he can recruit them with the big boys.

Look, first of all, at a quick glance, Les is a better coach and all around better program manager. Now, as far as the hire, my feeling is that there's more to filling this opening than just hiring a good coach. Theior guy needs to right the ship and the perception about Arkansas is that their program is sleazy because of the lingering Petrino issues. So, Bielema comes in with his good attitude, clean program, Mr. nice guy perception and immediately changes the look of Arkansas for the better. I don't know alot about the guy, I'm just saying what it looks like. So good for Arkansas, they may be turning the corner here, but, they still have a lot of work to do.

Isn't he the worst coach every Sunday after a loss? But now put him up against Bielema and he can never lose.

Bielema took the Arkansas job for the money and the fact that Texas is a boarder state. He must be planning to recruit Texas as hard as Saban recurited Louisiana. He obviously has his work cut out for him, but with A&M in the SEC, recruiting Texas should get easier for both Arkansas and LSU.

Don't forget he has the ability to get some talent from the north too. There is always surplus athletes to come out of the south so he will get his fair share. Arkansas is a school that needs to be able to recruit somewhat nationally without much of a built in recruiting base. If he can manage to pick up some sleepers from the southern states and snag a few guys from the north he is in pretty good position.

this....bigtime. ar-kansas has always had very solid olines and I only see them getting stronger with this +hire. the twits and twats on this board wouldn't know good coaching if they saw it...if ya get my drift. solid post. beat clempson.

he racked up wins agains shitty opponents with Russell Wilson and Montee Ball. There is nothing you can show me that would make me think this was a great hire. And don't give me this "3rd straight Rose Bowl" bull shite. Wisconsin finished 6th in the shitty Big 10 and 3rd in their division this year.

Don't think him being identical styles to Les is by accident. It almost appears looking at the attempt to Les Miles, Arkansas knew what they wanted in a head coach and what they wanted to run. It was a matter of finding someone to go there and take the job.

But he coached in the Big 10, it isn't like a great coach in the SEC has ever come from there. Wait a minute.... I think I know of a guy from Michigan State, I can't get his name out.

Beilema is just an awkward fit at Arkansas. It's strange to see him go there after hearing his disdain for SEC football along with its recruiting practices.
