Trooper and Luper are the important coaches for them to keep their recruits. I can't see how Malzahn keeps those two when they've been pulled off the recruiting trail because the NCAA is watching them.

Yeah I would think as long as Trooper is there, Foster stays

Malzahn is a laughable hire for Auburn and if I am a Auburn defensive recruit Im running for the hills. Auburn will have this gimick offense that they had a few years back but they arent going to have a Cam Newton to run it. Its going to be like the years post Cam where the offense couldnt perform at a championship level and the defense will be mediocre at best because Malzahn will want to try and outscore teams instead of defend.

Wonder if Skinner likes the Arky hire...doesn't seem like that would be a good fit for him.

Yeh. Those were extreme down YEARS for Auburn. Dude, it was an entire TWO frickING YEARS without Cam. And they made remarkable improvement from the year before when he was hired as offensive coordinator. You took a HUGE sample size to make as your argument.

Trooper has gone back out on the trail, according to an auburn buddy of mine.

Trooper and Luper were both allowed to start back recruiting several days ago. My son goes to AHS with their sons and every time I see Trooper I give him a Geaux Tigers!

Before you say Gus only succeeded because of Cam, you need to do a little research on Gus' stints as OC. Maybe look up record setting stint at Tulsa. Not to mention the fact that he's a pretty good recruiter as well. I think Auburn made a very good hire.

Didn't all the experts on the RANT predict Urban Myer's gimicky offense would never work in the SEC. Come to think of it, Myers had both Tebow and Newton to run it. How did Myers gimicky offense work in the Big-10 this year? Can you spell undefeated? It is amazing how well gimicky offenses work when you have great athletes to run gimicks. Miles needs to find some offensive gimicktry other than fake field goals and 4th-down trys.

Don't you love the thoughtful and unusually articulate responses we get on the RANT. I bet you loved Miles' offense in the 2012 BCS CG. How many times did we cross the 50 yard line? I forgot to count.

Carl Lawson would be awesome in purple and gold! LSU is a title contender, winning tradition, pipeline to NFL (especially for DE and DT positions), solid academics, and chance for early playing time.

I love how you bring up spelling in a post where you can't spell the name of the coach correctly. Meyer. And usually the Rant is where threads are hijacked with shitty opinions on our offensive play calling.

Both have been out recruiting the past week or two
