What are your favorite bars in LC to relax and have a few beers? I'm moving there in January and will be needing a chill place to have a few drinks. Cowboys is out of the question. I've heard OB's, but I'm looking for more of a "few beers after work" kind of place. TIA

Darrel's has the best sandwich in town, good TV set-up, and can be a good place to unwind.
Micci's on Ryan St. is one of my favorites. The crowd is generally upper 20s, live piano music a few nights a week.
MacFarlane's Celtic Pub is solid, good food and good scotch selection.
Luna's downtown is pretty chill, good patio area, and has live music a lot of weekends. Above average food as well.

Also Pappy's as mentioned earlier. I got up to Frosty Factory a bit simply because i live across the street.

Macfarlanes downtown has a big beer selection and good happy hours for after work, the food is pretty good as well.

When I get interested in a chick I try to get her to Micci's for drinks pretty early on. If she can't enjoy good music at a decent volume and hold a conversation, then I'm done.

The Wharf/Bourbons is more plant worker crowd working 4-10s.
Luna is not a bad place. Its chill, a lot of live music.
Pappys is cool to stop off after work grab a beer, as is Darrells. Darrells also has the more social bartenders.
OBs is not bad early. Friday nights get packed though and it starts to feel clubby.
I've heard good things about huddle up. They have a decent beer selection and you can get your buddies and split a beer tower.
JDs if you're feeling frisky, not bad prices for liter beers for being in a casino and TVsa shite.

New place by the house called Paradise on Country Club. Hardly anyone in there, clean, pool tables, any Southern Pecan on tap at all times.

We used to go once a week or so to Frosty after work. Never anyone in that place, it was great.

places where you can look at some decent "scenery" while enjoying a few beers:
Darrell's Tues nights
121 Bistro Wed nights
Outback Thurs nights
OB's, Globar, Jack Daniels, and Luna's are usually solid on wknds.

if there's a legit artist playing, The Porch is a good time and for the most part low key.
