Honestly, I couldnt tell you what the army uniform is supposed to look like. How the hell does he know what the USMC dress uniform is supposed to look like. Shit, the uniform regulations have changed since I got out 2 years ago.

while the gentleman has a valid point, how polite and level-headed do you think he was being before being approached by both mall security and a deputy? i assume he was banned from the store because he was acting like an a-hole and wanted to make it into the newspaper.

I am boycotting Old Navy for their role in expanding the number of cargo pants in the country.

On June 28, 2012. The article was published on June 22, 2012 (old arse article, OP). I agree it is a non-issue, but the Vet wasn't in the wrong with his claim. There is likely more to this story that we aren't hearing though. No way he just gets kicked out for simply informing an employee of the "problem." He had to be doing something else.

Yeah it's dumb, but lighten up soldier. It's some teenage girl who works at Old Navy. I highly doubt she's claiming that she earned the medals.

So what if someone was going around with a fake degree in the same field that you graduated in, stole a job opportunity from you that you could of gotten? You wouldn't be outraged? You wouldn't get upset and tell everyone that you've earned your degree and this guy is stealing credit for something he didn't earn? He would be sued for fraud by that company right? Teenager or not, he didn't earn the credit to wear that uniform. He didn't put in the work for that right of passage. The kid's a fraud and he didn't even have to say a damn thing, the Uniform is a symbol that holds a meaning in it's own. Freedome doesn't mean devoid of respect, what the kid did was opposite of that and was put in his place. And someone got butthurt about it. Honestly I'm just jumping to conclusions as to what the kid was wearing. Was it full battle uniform? Was it full Dress Blues? Or was it just a Top being worn as some kind of trendy jacket? Why the frick would he wear full dress blues?

LOL But you are right though. That rule was made unconstitutional. Still, the kid should have a little for respect for the uniform; I doubt you will agree with me though.

I'm a vet and I really don't care if someone wears the uniform or medals they didn't earn.

Sorry I wasn't assuming you weren't a veteran, I've seen you post in other threads on veteran issues. Was just trying to spin it into another situation that would be similar.

As an Army Combat Vet
Curious to see this dudes' "combat record." Been around more military than civilian for more than half of my life, and I've said it on here before, the ones who have truly been in harms way aren't the chest beaters when they come home, it's usually the REMFs. Most vets wouldn't have given this a second thought. Attention ho imo.
