| B-Party Restaurant (NOLA) (Posted on 12/4/12 at 4:31 pm)
Going with 9 friends and would like some suggestion on places to eat. Not a dive place but not super nice either. Some place where a sports coat will do but still will be fun. Thanks

Muriel's Nice but not too expensive, nice atmosphere, and close to things to do before/after dinner.

Don't care about food type and we are staying at the Bourbon Orleans.

Whores live under the table. Because it is a very large table built for a group and gives you a view of the whole dining room.

So what's the type of cuisine or things I have to order at each of these places?

Domenica is a great suggestion for what you're looking for. The SO and I go often.

Cochon and La Boca might be a little to far for a walk. Could taxi I guess though. Are either of them amazing to where I have to go?

Cochon is Cajun/Southern food. Order a bunch of stuff and share. Fire Roasted Oysters, fried alligator, etc... La Boca Aregnetinian Steaks. Domenica, Rustic regional Italian, skewing more and more Mediterranean.

Why not just go to Drago's for better oysters? I could go for a steak, but again, it's a far walk All I'm seeing on the site is pizza...

Here is a hint. The food in the Quarter is by and large absolutely awful and overpriced. If that is your bag, by all means go for it. If you want to cut your groomsmen some slack and at least let them eat great food, go outside the Quarter. The oysters at Cochon arent the same as, or really all that close in flavor to Dragos. More of a spicy, chili butter than parmesan, butter, and garlic. Plenty more on Domenica's menu than just pizzas (but those are excellent.) Here is what I would order at Domenica with a large group: 2-3 pizzas, a meat/cheese plate, 2-3 cold apps, 4-5 pastas, 2-3 mains, all the desserts, and enough housemade lemoncello to kill a cat.

I can't say I agree with this, I have been to many places in the quarter that were good and I didn't feel were too expensive. I do agree with your suggestion, Domenica though.
