Man, its got to be tough to be a La Tech fan right now. Every time this cat opens his mouth he says something stupid. They need to give him the boot b/c he is making La Tech look horrible.

The good thing for Dykes is Van de velde has already proven he thinks its cool to leverage something better while putting the little guy on hold. So he shouldn't have any issues with Dykes shopping around for a better coaching gig and will definitely keep a job waiting for him at tech in case it doesn't work out with these better schools.

sorry for posting about a Louisiana school on a Tigerdroppings sub forum.
we have no football for a few weeks. This all blew up the last two days and there is little else football wise to talk about.
I'm simply amused watching this guy go up in flames by all his idiotic comments.
If you dont like it the subject, dont come into the thread to bitch. You already do that enough on the other forums.

I have some friends who went to Tech. I feel bad they have to deal with a nincompoop for an AD.

I don't see what the big deal is about the above quotes. He is the only AD/coach that is honest with people about coaching searches.
The AD at SJSU is just copping out. He doesn't wan't to speculate? Bull...he just doesn't want to let everyone know that he is waiting on pins and needles to get an answer from his coach.
At least the TECH guy is saying what is actually happening. I would imagine his comments on the HC at SJSU is so that they will leave his guy alone.
I think he's just not putting on some cloud of confusion and misinformation for everyone.
I still think that Sonny Dykes should be getting just as much blame as the AD on this Bowl thing. There is no way in the world you can tell me that the AD would still be employed right now if he had acted alone on this.
Do you really think that Nick Saban works FOR his AD or Miles works FOR Alleva. Sorry but its the other way around. At LA TECH Dykes is as close to a Saban/Miles as it comes in terms of success at a school that hasn't had tons of it.
Dykes had more input and on the decision to hold out than the AD. FACT...

I never went to TECH nor had a relative attend there.
I'm a fan of Dykes but that is who I'm putting the blame on.
I get it...MSUtiger and the likes have really made TECH easy to hate with the daily threads but seriously think about it...
Had Alleva told the CFA Bowl give me some more time, we're waiting on the Cotton Bowl, without Les Miles knowledge or direction, do you really think he would not have been fired immediately if LSU was out of the bowl season right now?!?!

Here's the difference:
Tech knows that Dykes is leaving this offseason regardless of what happens, so why would they pay attention to what he says? It's easy to scapegoat the guy who you know the fans will turn on for leaving anyway. Miles isn't leaving LSU after a mildly successful season. HUGE difference.

This will be me last post on this because it really has no bearing on me personally. But your statement above is probably right but that's just it...TECH is not using Dykes as the scapegoat! They're letting everyone beat up on the AD.
I haven't been caught up in any spin. All I said was that the AD didn't act alone and that Dykes should be sharing the blame.
No spin, it's anti-spin, I'm saying there should be more outrage just not on one man.
How's that so hard for you to understand?
