His stats against top teams were nowhere near Cam Newton's.

Those 3 best teams all HAVE TOP 5 DEFENSES.
Florida - His FIRST CAREER START, and put up pretty damn good numbers for that first start. 23-30 with 173 yards 76.7% 60 RuYds and a TD
LSU - His only sub 120.0 QB rating all year, we all know he didn't play well that game
Bama - 24-31 with 250ish yards and 2 TDs against the top defense in the nation, taking them down.
Look at Klein's opponents and their respective defenses. Only TWO teams have a top 40 defense (TCU at 17 and Texas Tech  at 39). This award should be between JFF and ML.

Wicked good? Absolutely. But if any "play-maker" should be getting a ceremonial invite (since everyone knows this should be JFF's award this year) it should be Tavon Austin.
Lee's receiving stats are a little bit better (1680 yds & 14 TDs vs 1259 yds & 12 TDs). It is important to note that Austin got his receiving numbers as the #2 receiver, playing from the slot - he had to split catches with Stedman Bailey, who is a Biletnikoff finalist (along with Lee) and has 1500 yards and 23 TDs receiving. Lee had the advantage of being the #1, go-to man all year.
Their KR stats are very comparable - 28 returns @ 28 yds/return vs 28 returns at 26 yds/return, both with 1 TD.
Austin also has nearly 600 yards rushing (at 9.8 yds/rush) and 3 rushing TDs, including 21 rushes for 344 yds & 2 TDs in his first actual start at RB since his HS days against Oklahoma. Lee has 12 rushes for 106 yds & no TDs on the year.
Austin also returned 15 punts @ 11 yards a return, with 1 long TD. Lee did not return punts.
Dude has been lights out all friggin year (was last year as well) - if anyone deserves the recognition of getting an invite to NY, it's him.
