Let's put it this way, Marshall has been the worst lottery pick out of those that have actually played Besides, I'm pretty sure White wasn't a lottery pick

So you're saying they're not better than Rivers.
Not at all. Both of those two you just named were on teams with a lot of depth at those positions. Rivers is in a situation where he has to play now. Should he be playing as much as he is? No, not at all. But he is due to injuries and a lack of depth.

Fair enough My point still stands with Marshall. At least he can pass the ball.

Rivers has a better assist/turnover ratio. ETA: And hasn't been sent to the D League by a rebuilding team.

I've seen Rivers make some nice passes. Remember, he's learning a position he's not used to. Give him time to get it down. But I've seen flashes of his passing skills.

Well why are you criticizing Rivers and praising Marshall when Marshall has been the worst lottery pick by a mile, has worse numbers, and was sent to the D League? Even in the summer league Rivers was better.

Because they have had different roster situations. Playing time for both hasn't been dictated by skill on the court, it's been dictated by Marshall being the 4th guard on the depth chart, and Rivers being the 2/3 guard on the depth chart. Gordon's healthy, we keep Jack, and Rivers is the 4th guard on our roster, I promise you he's in the D-league by this point in the season. And if not, should be.

Didn't Rivers have 15 and 6 the other night? He just needs to time to physically develop and adjust to the physicality of the game. Would sending him to the D-League help? Quite possibly. However, the team needs help now so I understand the coaches reluctance to ship him off just now If any young guard on our team is never going to be a real contributor, it's Henry

Explain the numbers then

He's still ahead of Henry and Mason Jr. You just sound like a miserable person

You have to be patient with such a raw prospect like Rivers. It may take him 3 or 4 seasons to start figuring things out.
So right about when his rookie contract is expiring? that makes absolutely zero sense.

It makes no sense for a 20 year old raw prospect to take a few years to get comfortable in the NBA?

I could be ahead of Henry And how do you say he's ahead of Mason when Mason starts every game and plays more minutes?

How does it make no sense? Hell, Aminu is doing it right now. He was awful (I mean, really really awful) his first 2 years. This year he is much better. He isn't a world beater but he's definitely much better and more capable. And Rivers is better than Aminu was his rookie year.

This team is going to lose regardless. Instead of D League, he gets time w nba players and nba coaching. That's valuable experience that will pay off in the long run. A lot of great players struggle their first year or two
