it doesn't go down as that is just a gimmick claiming credit for savings from the Afghan drawdown. They're double dipping with that claim

How the hell can the draw down of troops be calculated in a spending reduction negotiation if that was gonna happen anyway? If Iran starts slinging missiles at Israel tomorrow, will our response be considered a spending increase?

Just heard on TV that they propose raising age of medicare qualifying to 67. That is not going to go over well at all especially since corp are laying off older workers and they are losing their health insurance.

deficit was cut last year. Quite a bit in fact. On paper it was 1.1T in deficit, much less than the 1.6 the year before. But I think revenues were a little weak, so it was 1.2 or 1.3T.

Technically yes. Obama wants the sheep that say Obaama too think he is for the middle class while he raises taxes,disses the Bush tax cuts and raises the debt ceiling. You really can't get any lower in lying than Obama.
