You have a very smart dad. I had a similar experience. When I first got mine my dad shot an armadillo as soon as we got home at about 10 foot. He brought me to it and showed me the nasty bloody hole in its shell and explained to me how that bullet will do that damage on anything and does not discern game from humans. It just dishes out punishment on whatever I point it at.

Some good news from earlier today. Not at liberty to share just yet, but it looks like he is fighting and some things may be breaking his way. He is still sedated in ICU but he is showing signs of functions. Will know more in the next day or so.
Please continue to pray. The family will be conducting a blood drive in Maringouin sometimes next week. I will put up some details soon if anyone wants to help this young man out.

Glad to hear the kid has made it through this far. Without going into details, I'll say I was involved in the aid of the people involved, and we here were all wondering how he was doing. Hope the news continues to improve.

We rarely get follow up information, so it's really good to hear that he's made it this far. Thanks, and we'll definitely be thinking of all the families dealing with what happened.

Terrible accident. Wife works with the mother of one of the kids on hunt. Brain swelling is down and it's shifted back to its normal position. Kid is putting up a good fight.

Yeah. Looks like things going better than planed. I know all three boys and their families. I lived in Livonia for 27 years. My buddy was the one of the first responders on the scene. Horrible situation but the actions of the two other boys in the boat prevented any further damage. Keep all in yall prayers.

Last i heard they were waiting for the swelling to go down to see were to go from there. The little boy that shot him is taking it hard. They finally got him talking and he explained what happened. The boy that was shot was calling the ducks in the front of the boat. The boy that shot him was kind of onside of him and behind him. He yelled shoot the boy in the front turned into the shot. The shooter swung the gun at the last second catching the other boy with half of the shot. They were hunting with lead shot not steel. They did keep him from falling into the germ filled bayou and wrapped his head with a shirt right away. It was too foggy for air med so he was rushed with a police excort to the hospital.

The other boy told his mother he was standing and the shooter was sitting. I knew about the lead shot, he called his mother first before EMS because they were worried about getting in trouble with the game wardens. And by the timing of when I started getting texts from wife in the blind and the full moon they may have started early too.
