I don't understand why Mr Gold was afraid of Cora. She's just a woman with magical powers like Regina, although clearly more powerful. He's the fricking dark one. She shouldn't be able to do much to him.
Also, was it just me or was it a complete dick move leaving Regina when they all went to dinner after their victory? They would have failed without her help, then they just leave her standing there like a chump. Pretty a-hole move for the storybook good guys.

meh, I viewed it as her being that typical loser of your group of friends.
You know, 10 of you are hanging out. Two of you decide to go to a club. 7 of the other friends join in, without being asked (because it is understood). And, one person stays behind and cries to themselves about not being invited. Even though in reality, nobody was really invited because it was just a spontaneous event.
I think that she is still having that internal battle between being the evil Regina and being the good Regina that is nothing like her mother. She is letting Rumpelstiltskin get to her for some reason.

I think it was more of a play towards Regina. He has some agenda and reasoning for not wanting her to become "good." He could have just went and stopped them from coming back by himself. But, he intentionally gave Regina the "authority" to make that decision. He has some other motive that we will see in the future.
