I thought this board was all about states rights?
One can be for state's rights and still say that something a state does is stupid.

You do realize this, correct?

I like the idea of banning it for minors.
This is hardly stunning.

You're pretty solidly anti-freedom. No reason to change that on this issue.

Doesn't want a kid to have an energy drink, but wants you to pay for his.

So "progressive".

jeaux simple question

what moral/ideological basis do you have to tell people what to do? where is the ultimate justification flowing from?

1) If the state is doing it, all you I hate the Fed Gov and give all the power to the state should be thrilled. But... I guess when the state who you empowered does anything you don't like well too bad.
This issue has nothing to do with state vs. federal authority. The government - at any level - has no right to dictate the dietary choices of private citizens, thought I'm certain they'll make bolder strides toward asserting such authority now that Obamacare is a foregone conclusion.

These rules, as stated above are for kids
They aren't the government's kids and, though I don't drink energy drinks, I respect the right of others to do so.

and besides all you states righters. Doen't NY state have the right to decide this no matter what your state sayd.

Again, this issue has nothing to do with states rights. If New York, through a democratic process and not some Bloomberg-esque de facto emperial decree decides to pass this law, so be it, but it's a bad precedent for giving government authority over your most basic personal choices.
