Your picture is of jackup rigs which could no longer meet the met ocean requirements put in play after Katrina, Rita, Ike and Gustav. Obama had nothing to do with those new requirements, but we did see a lot of jackup rigs leave the GOM bc they were n o longer fit for the environment they were working in.

I will be pleased about the approval like most on here. Then, I will bitch about new proposals I see on the table.....offshore ticketing, more criminal investigations instead of accident investigations, higher civil penalties, increased regulations, etc, etc, etc all of which do wonders for our industry.

The Keystone Pipeline will bring a form of oil/sand mix that is turned into a type of tar. It takes a huge amount of energy to convert to usable energy. It is a wash when it comes to creating energy, but it will make some rich guys richer.

I wonder if you knew it is going to be transported regardless. In your haste to claim keystone is bad because rich people get richer, maybe you didn't realize that buffett is the current rich guy getting rich off of the commodity. Its is transported via his railway instead of a pipeline....wonder if you knew that?

You mean you guys didn't know that it's called TarSand, not oil. Wow, I thought you guys were informed.
People don't know shite about this project. It takes an incredible amount of energy to turn the tar into usable oil.
Also, we won't be using this oil, we will export it. It is such low grade shite we wouldn't put it in our cars.

I'm laughing over here.. I had no idea people were this retarded. This forum has been great.
People didn't even know it was a substance officially called Tar Sand not oil that they want to bring down the pipeline.
If people don't even know that, I'm sure they have no clue that this tar will be refined and exported bc it's low grade.. it won't even help us get off foreign oil.

Wrong. The keystone pipeline gets it to Gulf Coast refineries which are designed to run heavy, sulfur crudes. Why are they designed this way? Heavier crude requires processing by complex refineries which are exactly the types located on the Gulf Coast. Heavier crudes are also less expensive. The gasoline that comes out of the refinery is no different.
Also, they are not putting tar-sand in the pipe. The oil is already extracted from the sand before it makes it into the pipeline. There is no "tar" in the pipeline although it is a very heavy crude.
You really have no clue what you're talking about. I feel sorry for you.

It's an oil sand - bitumen. It is processed in Canada into oil then shipped to market. Tar wouldn't flow in a pipeline.

First some will be exported after refining some prior. The main issue is WTI prices, there's too much oil in Cushing and that's why the leg from OK to TX is being built now (doesn't need St Dept approval)....if you get to the coast you can get Brent pricing which is currently about +10.
You should stop posting on a subject when you are as ignorant as you are and you really shouldn't refer to people as ignorant rednecks when, again, you are the most ignorant posting on the subject.
