Hmmm so now a city has cut hours to avoid Odramacare.
Let me guess they are greedy just like Papa John.
The city has 59 permanent part-time employees working 32 hours per week. None are eligible for health insurance through the city now. However, one part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will require employers to offer insurance to part-timers working 30 hours or more.
The change in the law does not take effect until January 2014, but when it does it will include a look-back period to determine who is eligible. Cedar Falls Administrative Services Director Richard McAlister said the look-back period can be as short as three months, but the city will opt for a 12-month period so seasonal employees will not qualify. Hours are averaged over the entire year.
McAlister said if all 59 employees whose hours will be cut were to take advantage of the health insurance it would cost the city $855,000 per year.

I was talking with my Mayor at a grocery store 2 weeks ago and he said the same thing. They are forced to cut 60 people back in hours so they can't get Obamacare Ins.. Less hours for 60 people, thanks Obama. It would cost thousands of dollars they don't have to provide Ins. for them.

Yeah sounds like alot of cities are gonna drop the hammer on part timers. Sweet deal, this is what happens when idiots choose an organizer for a CEO position.

More cities in Iowa
Other cities are acting on the upcoming law as well by cutting hours of city employees. Altoona, Ankeny, Ames, and Pleasant Hill.

Most city workers piss away more than 3 hours in a work week. Sounds like taxpayers are getting more value for their $.

In my office of 14 people, only my boss and I voted for Romney. Everyone up here got caught up in the Obama fever...he paraded Bon Jovi, Jay Z, Ashley Judd and other celebrities for free events in October

Take away accountability and consequences and you get the Federal/State/Local Government Employee.
