Hates recruiting--that's why he jumped to the league ASAP.
When you ask high schoolers who John Gruden is, they say "the guy who's always telling rookie quarterbacks a bunch of bull shite disguised as legitimate analysis because of the tone of his voice?"
Terrible hire.
Recruits were 7 when this guy mattered in football.
And no, not a UT hater nor am I jealous. I roll Sumlin (who just picked off one of your recruits--and your former thug POS TE-- and is SEC COY). Just think this Gruden craze is absolutely retarded.
Rocky Top deserves better. Its fans are dumbasses for acting as the moving force behind this.

Here's the deal boys. The "beat writers" in Knoxville are being fed this and that by the UT Media Relations department, and those who are employed by UTK (HUBBS) aren't going to spill the beans or are gonna push the agenda they are told to push.
Patrick Brown is a damn good guy, great writer and I'm happy that he "scooped" the likes of Hubbs, Rucker, Hyams and some of the stuck up News-Sentinel guys and got this in.
It has been a reality for a long time. Will Gruden succeed at college level, who knows? But if I'm UT, this is a gamble you have to pony up for and take. The guy is a freakin RockStar.
They pony up and get Gruden, mark my words board and mark this, UT has a top five class in one month or I'll take a permanent banhammer.
If it doesn't get done, your new Vols coach is likely Mora. Jimbo is playing the game for raise, Strong is Auburn bound, Fedora and Golden are staying put.

What will happen if UT goes 5-7 no wins against Bama, UGA, or Florida in the next 3yrs?
Will the AD clip Gruden or does he own them with this new contract?

When you are asking 5.5-6 million for yourself and another 4.5-5 million for your staff when the program is in a financial mess and having to get help from Manning and others, that's why it is the point of emphasis. For UT, 10-11 million a year for a football staff is a lot of money.
Now if Gruden pulls Raheem Morris and some of these NFL names to go with Tee Martin, current o-line coach and Graham, who knows...

At the rate they are going, Gruden will be coaching the Fighting Jons at Gruden University located in Grudenville, Tennessee.
So yeah, he will own them, as well as the Browns, a few stills, some meth labs, and whatever else they can come up with.

I know we joke about his wife being the cheerleader blah blah blah, but I cannot emphasize enough that he would not even be listening to the Vols right now if it weren't for her.
The next 24 hours will tell the entire story for the Vols. If it's gonna break, with JG, it needs to be this weekend to share some headlines on a big college football weekend. We'll see... I know UT has a contingent going up to New York for Fulmer's banquet. Be a lot of eyes on Knoxville tomorrow.

I've been hearing the same from someone that I really trust who is close to the Haslams. He told me a couple days ago almost exactly what that article stated. No way it's a coincidence. Just hope we pony up the cash and get him.
