Nominating Rice and not being afraid of anything that results is a clear indicator that he has absolutely no fear of anything in his second term.

Why should he? He is never questioned by the media and doesn't have to pass laws through the legislature he just does what he wants. If you oppose him you are called a racist. He will not be blamed for a thing that how's wrong over his term as President!

Maybe he just wants his top choice as secretary of state, and doesn't want republicans to kill her nomination? He's supposed to have a pretty close relationship with her.

Where was Rice today at the UN. Why was the US and Israel beaten so bad? Even lost England and Germany. Is it so bad now we lose England and Germany? We need to pull out of the UN, no more money.

Maybe. But he might just push it to the brink knowing about the Libya deal, Rwanda, Sudan pulling off of Bin Laden, etc., and then advance a less liberal but still a ringer for him compromise.

Actually, nominating Rice focuses the negative attention on her, which is more easily defeated since she was just saying what they told her to say.
The R's going after her is just laying right into it.

What I just wrote. Their problem is that their story is weak, so they make the issue about "mean-spirited republicans" attacking a poor black woman by nominating her.
Like I said, it focuses the attention on her and not the larger issue. Republicans are falling for it.
Republicans are falling for a lot of bull shite since the election, like the idea that a majority of Americans want to be fringe, lefty loons.
