Reread it two weeks ago. Ordered a leather bound version because my paper back is covered in stains and missing the first two chapters. First book I truly loved.

quote: honest question. If I only watched the cartoon, will this be familiar?
The animated movie was only about an hour long which means there was no subplots and lots of the story was missing but they didnt add anything. The depictions of some the characters like the wood elves and gollum are way off.
It tells the general story but its like reading a page long synopsis of the history of the U.S. you know the general story but not really.
I havent seen it in a long time so this is all on memory. Ill have to watch it again.

I won't be. I read it many years ago but I remember most of it like it was yesterday. I think I would rather enjoy the movies and maybe one day read the books again just to compare.
