People are being hypothetically critical about PPACA, but in the long run it will be seen as revolutionary, even for the progressive nature of our country, just as eliminating slavery, women's suffrage, eliminating the draft, etc. People forget the bottom line of PPACA: that everyone is entitled to healthcare as human beings. No, it's not going to change overnight, but all this conspiracy talk and negativity is only going to see the critics left behind. Imagine how history is going to look back on Obama and record his passage of the bill, it's challenge to the Supreme Court, and even the states pitching a fit about it; the end result is its validity and implementation. It is obvious, through our elected representatives passing it, the Supreme Court upholding it, and the majority of our country reelecting the president, the PPACA is here to stay. Regardless of whether or not we agree with it, we are all witness to a landmark period of history in our country. We might as well run some dirt on it and do what we can to adapt.

WHY? Where is it spelled out in the constitution. A WHY would you believe that government knows shite about patient care. OBAMAcare was never about healthcare. Its about retaining power and vote buying. No part of it has anything to do with patient advocacy.

Hate to ruin your thread. I'm sure you feel like you're on a roll BUT....we have had a "right" to health care since the 60's. No one, by law, can be turned down for needed medical treatment regardless of his/her ability to pay. Obamacare has nothing to do with medical "care".

Healthcare is provided by people. Saying you have the right to healthcare is the same as saying you have the right to compel someone else to action. For example. Lets say you need your appendix cut out, but the doctor would rather go fishing. Your 'right' to healthcare would require that doctor to give up his vacation to fix you. Simple rule of wrist, if it costs someone else time or money then it isn't one of your rights.

HOORAY!! Wait, hold on. Will this address the lazy and unhealthy nature of our citizenry? Nope, thus it does nothing. It won't make medical care cheaper. It'll just balloon the amount that the government spends on it. Without any actual repercussions due to poor life decisions, there is no incentive to live healthier lives. This addresses a symptom of the disease because no one wants to attack the "disease".

It's not my thread, I just jumped into it. So, I'm not really on a roll - yet.
