I agree, but at what point does every loss come to be seen in this perspective when the stakes are so high at a program like LSU. I view every loss as potentially NCG killing.

People that blame "the hate" for les miles on the love for nick saban are the same ones that call you a racist for voting against obama. Its simply not true. People question his decision making on and off the field. It drives me crazy to see a sputtering offense every year. Chavis was called in to run the defense and has donea wonderful job, but les refuses to find an oc to do the same thing for the offense. No one is screaming for a spread o, just something a bit more original than bo's 30 year old playbook.

LSU went 54 minutes without scoring a single point. Les would be torn to shreds for such a lack of production.

What frustrates me is playing down to the level of the competition. It denies the backups playing time and hurts our long term preparation. If Mett had more reps last year this year may have been different. You can't win every game. I went ou to this site a couple days ago LINK We should all complain at little less and be thankful for the run we are on.

Sorry buddy, but there is no such thing as a power I with one receiver. Maybe only one spread wide, but there are typically two other receivers eligible at the ends, and the RBs are also eligible receivers.

Really? 2005 recruiting class was only 13. Why? Numbers finally caught up with LSU (ie. Saban) who could only sign nearly 1/2 of what other teams were signing. FYI, Alabama signed 31 that year. Auburn - 22. Arkansas - 24. Miss St. - 29. Ole Miss - 28. Saban was not perfect. I guarantee you if he stayed for an additional 3-4 yrs. (05-09), I don't think he would have done as well as Miles. As far as recent coaching brain farts for Saban, look at the Aggie game. Best GD offensive line in decades and Grade A running backs. 4 minutes left in the game. 1 and goal on the Aggies' six yard line. Run. PASS? PASS? PASS? Really? Is that all you can muster with the line of the Decade (Century?) offensive line?

I noticed how you never said this was successful in the SEC. Let the D put 9 guys in the box and no one can run on that. No one. Have to use the recievers to spread the D out. Then let Hill take care of business.

I have listed all of the losses below. I have listed them from inexcusable to excusable 1. 2009 Ole Miss-clock it 2. 2008 Ole Miss-on fourth qb 3. 2008 Arkansas-Petrinos first year 4. 2012 Alabama-no d 5. 2012 Florida-no o 6. 2008 Georgia-two pick sixes 7. 2008 Alabama-4 picks 8. 2011 Alabama-national title rematch 9. 2010 Arkansas-BCS bid on the line 10. 2007 Kentucky-Charles Scott had over 100 yds rushing in first half, doesn't see ball till last play of game 11. 2007 Arkansas-Matt Flynn had turrible game and bad D in OT 12. 2009 Florida-No o 13. 2010 Penn State--cluster frick field 14. 2005 Tennessee-Monday night game 15. 2005 Georgia-tired after 11 weeks straight 16. 2006 Auburn-screwed on pass int no call 17. 2006 Florida-won title 18. 2009 Alabama-won title 19. 2008 Florida-won title 20. 2010 Auburn-won title I give Les a mulligan for 2005 with Hurricane Katrina and his first year. 2006 we lost to two teams on the road ranked in the top 5 at the time. One of them won the title. 2007 had two triple OT games and still won the title with those losses. 2008 we had 4 qb's and a shitfest at D due to Mallveto. First gripe I had with Les not going after a big name DC to replace Pelini after the NC game and getting a huge raise. 2009 lost to two teams that were ranked #1 when we played them. Also had that horrible game against Ole Piss. If we just run the ball, we kick the FG and win after the onside kick. Decided to get stupid and throw the ball. 2010 had a few close calls with Tennessee and Florida. Had the ball leading Auburn on the road in the 4th and couldn't close the deal. Lost to Arkansas with a BCS bowl on the line. 2011 was great except the NC game. Wouldn't have matter who was the qb we were going to lose. This year if not for injuries and suspensions I think we would be playing for the SEC CG no doubt. Too much to overcome. I know, TLDR, GTFO, PIIHB

Thank GOD we've got a whole yr to go before this anti Miles crowd gets going again. Look thru the 101 threads bout this topic, just this wk alone, and it's the same ranters saying the same things, over & over again. With his track record, proven & earned in the toughest division in the toughest conference in the country, we have a great coach for another 7 yrs at least. Nice to know what we have to look forward to. He sucks at winning 80% of his games? Ranters here would have had heart attacks during the Hallman, DiNardo, Archer, Stovall yrs. Odd that those names come up, as they all got to be HC at LSU after LSU ran off Charley Mac, who only won 70% of his games. A coincidence? Numerous bad coaches coming after a good HC is run off?

Here is the scoop on the Bama game. They practiced the fake fg all week. It worked. It just so happened that Bama played man (rarely happens on 4th and long). I'm sure les regrets this one. The onside kick was brilliant and worked. Well, about six inches short. We had the moment, we get that, we win. I spoke with players and they said when Les went for it all, they got absolutely pumped. Les threw everything we had that game, and the players knew it, and they gave everything they had. (If he would have been conservative everyone would bitch anyone. At least he put us in a position to win). People forget we were a TD underdog at home.

...not Bobby Bowden ...not Steve Spurrier ...not Bo Schemblecher ...not Chip Kelly ...not Mack Brown ...not Bob Stoops It's hard to win multiple titles, buddy. Since scholarships were reduced there have been very few multiple national championship coaches. Looks like it's Saban or bust if you're dissatisfied with Miles. Why don't you call Nick and get the talks started?

This was the root. This is when the doubt started and has sprang up again every time an opportunity has presented itself. He caught flack for not only losing a 21 point lead at home at halftime, but also for wearing a "girly" head set. This is the root game that all other negative feelings have been piled on. I don't know why but that is the case. If someone could dig up this board after that game you will see what I'm talking about.

2009 Ole Miss-clock it
Here's the thing about that game. Had we won the game, LSU would've finished 3rd in the SEC and gone to the Citrus Bowl. By losing this game, LSU finished 3rd and went to the Citrus Bowl. The loss was about as meaningless as a loss could be. It cost LSU nothing (well, other than millions of stories on clock management) The 3 Arkansas losses bother me far more. At the time, 2007 was the worst loss we've ever suffered, we just got lucky that it didn't matter. 2008 was a complete give up, and I would argue the worst loss of Miles' tenure (aside from 08 Ole Miss), and 2010 cost us a BCS bid to a team we never should've lost to. As bad as 2009 OM was, it simply didn't matter even in the context of the season. People need to let that one go.

His offenses have been ugly and not entertaining to watch. Saban is doing better. At Bama. Those are the main reasons. Others: Just two SEC titles. 2006 team was ultra talented but did not win the West.
