Ditto the 1984 Vanessa Williams Penthouse, which had a 16 year old Traci Lords as Pet of the Month.

I have a hard time believing this. So it is illegal to own a film that was perfectly legal to produce? Have child porn laws changed that much since 1978?
I could be wrong on that but I thought they really cracked down on it and made it illegal. Not sure you can buy the unedited version anymore which would lead me to believe it is illegal.

Yeah but nobody knew Tracy was 16. Penthouse didn't put her in knowing she was 16.

I know, but the OP was asking about things that used to be legal but now are not.

True. But today, if you have a copy of that magazine in which her layout hasn't been removed, you can be charged with possession of child porn, as stupid as that sounds.

I had a copy of that magazine back in 1984 and I remember Traci well. You'd have never convinced me she was only 16.

Smoking at work must seem implausible to kids today. Ashtrays all over the place.

All narcotics were legal without a prescription. Many patent medicines were opium based, which is why they were so effective at quieting fussy babies

Your children used to be able to walk or ride their bike to their friend's house 2 miles away to go play without you maintaining line of sight supervision. If your 8 year old does that now, you'll get arrested.

Inalways hated public smoking, especially in restaurants. Glad it's going away. Booze being illegal. 18 year olds drinking legally in Louisiana. Zero child safety seat rules. Remember sleeping in the back of the car above the seats just next to rear windshield. ! Fought for that spot. Playing outside all day. Riding bikes anywhere. Riding a 3 wheeler. Remember those? Full driving rights at 15. Zero access to porn. Remember when your buddy found his dad's playboy? Vice principal paddling kids at school. Oh Woodlawn High in BR had a smoking room for students in the 70s. Pot or speed being the hard drugs.

I can understand why smoking in restaurants is frowned upon. Smoking in the workplace and in public buildings has been gone for quite a while. What other "public smoking" are you referring to?
