Drunk driving used to be easier to get away with Or how about minors consuming alcohol in the 70's and 80's. My parents said the cops used to just follow them home and maybe pour out the booze. Now with all the fines and legal fees you are shelling out $500 and maybe some community service.

There's a book that describes fights that used to occur in the port of new Orleans. Apparently dudes from Kentucky were badasses. But legal fights included knives and anything smaller than a broken chair leg. Bigger than those was considered deadly force and illegal.

Pretty Baby Brooke Shields nude at 13 in a major motion picture. Not that long ago. If you have a copy today, you could go to jail for child porn.

Oh another good one. It really wasn't that long ago that marital rape was actually legal and on the books as being legal. Not sure when they finally changed those laws.

I have a hard time believing this. So it is illegal to own a film that was perfectly legal to produce? Have child porn laws changed that much since 1978?

I don't find this unthinkable. In fact, given that the courts have ruled a woman has a right to an abortion, I am surprised prostitution hasn't been legalized.

Not sure if Code Duelo was ever actually legal, per se. I think, depending upon the jurisdiction, the law kind of tended to just look the other way a lot of times.

Before 1967 some states didn't allow interracial marriage. Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional.

They hassle the hell out of you now. We used to go in bars when we were 16, and liquor stores when we were 15-16. There were places well known that would sell and it seemed to be a normal part of life. We have regulated the hell out of people until they are actually more uptight than they used to be about some of these things.
